Espace High Voltage System Error
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Renault Espace hybrid displayed a 'High-voltage system error' message, causing engine shutdowns and reduced power. The issue was linked to a heavily discharged or defective battery, possibly due to the car sitting unused for weeks. The suggested solution was to check the high-voltage system and battery at a workshop. Replacing the defective battery resolved the problem.

Hmm, that's interesting. Now that you mention it, the car did sit for a couple of weeks without being driven. Could that really cause such a dramatic issue with the high-voltage system?

Yeah, in my case it turned out the battery was heavily discharged. The voltage sensor freaked out and triggered all sorts of warnings. I would suggest visiting your local workshop and getting it checked, especially the high-voltage system and the battery itself.

Thanks for the tip! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on. Turns out the battery was indeed defective, they charged 290€ for a new one and the problem is gone. Appreciate the help!

I had something similar happen with my Espace. Not sure if it's exactly the same, but I was getting weird electrical fault messages and the car felt sluggish. Was your battery heavily discharged recently?
