Espace hybrid engine running rough

My 2023 Renault Espace hybrid is giving me fits. The check engine light is on, it's running rough, stalls sometimes at idle, and jerks like crazy when I try to accelerate. I've got 133064 km on the clock. I'm thinking it might be the fuel pressure sensor – anyone else have this fun?

I have an Espace, too, and experienced something similar not too long ago. Have you checked the cable and plug connections to the fuel pressure sensor? A defective connection can cause all sorts of havoc with the engine's performance.

Oh really? I was about to order a new sensor outright. Where exactly should I be looking for this 'cable and plug connection'? Near the fuel rail?

Yes, usually the fuel pressure sensor is mounted on the fuel rail. Therefore, the connection you should inspect will be nearby. However, I would suggest a visit to a qualified workshop so that the error memory can be read out and checked. You need to make absolutely sure before replacing any parts.

Thanks, that's super helpful! Turns out you were spot on. Took it to the shop, and it was indeed a dodgy wire connection. 95€ later, and it's running like a dream! Fuel economy is back, no more engine misfires, and smooth acceleration. Thanks again, you saved me a bunch of money!
