Espace Injection Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Renault Espace diesel was experiencing increased fuel consumption, weak engine performance, stalling at idle, and smoke during acceleration. The issue was suspected to be related to a bad sensor or a loose connection in the injection system. After taking the vehicle to a workshop, it was diagnosed as a defective plug on the injection system, which was repaired, resolving the problem.

Really? A loose connection could cause all that? Where exactly should I be looking? I'm not the most mechanically inclined...

Yep, it's worth a shot! I had those exact symptoms. Honestly, I wouldn't dig in too deep yourself if you aren't comfortable. My advice? Get it to a workshop. They'll be able to diagnose it properly.

Thanks so much for the tip! I took it to a shop, and you were spot on! It was a defective plug on the injection system. Cost me 95€ to get it fixed. Now it runs like new!

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had almost the exact same symptoms on my Espace. Have you checked the cable or plug connections to the injection system components? That's where I'd start looking.
