Espace intake air temperature sensor

I've got a 2018 Renault Espace with a gasoline engine throwing a code. Check engine light's on, power's noticeably down, and the engine's running rough. I pulled the codes and it points to the intake air temperature sensor. Mileage is at 200193 km. Anyone seen this before?

Yeah, I've heard of similar issues. Have you checked the wiring to the sensor? Sometimes it's just a loose connection or a damaged wire causing a bad reading. What's the actual temperature reading the sensor is giving?

I visually inspected the wiring, didn't see anything obvious. I don't have the exact temperature reading handy, but the error memory specifically states "Intake air temperature sensor defective". Does that confirm that it's probably the sensor itself?

If the code reader is stating that the sensor is defective, there's a high probability it's the culprit, especially given your symptoms. While it could still be wiring, the error message makes the sensor far more likely. I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop though to be 100% sure.

Thanks for the input. Ended up swapping out the intake air temperature sensor, cost me 155€. Seems to have sorted everything out.
