Espace Massage Seat Failure

I've got a 2023 Renault Espace, hybrid engine, and the massage function on the driver's seat has stopped working completely. When I try to activate it via the infotainment screen, nothing happens. No motor sound, no movement. I checked the car's error memory with my OBD scanner, and it's throwing a code related to a faulty connection in the massage seat circuit. Given the mileage is at 230765 km, I'm suspecting a loose wire or a failing connector. Has anyone else experienced this with their Espace's massage seats?

Summary of the thread

A 2023 Renault Espace owner experienced a complete failure of the driver's seat massage function, with no response when activated via the infotainment screen. An OBD scanner revealed a fault code indicating a connection issue in the massage seat circuit, likely due to a loose wire or failing connector. After checking fuses and confirming the seat heating/cooling functions were unaffected, the owner took the vehicle to a Renault workshop. The problem was identified as a faulty connector under the seat, which was replaced, restoring the massage function.

That's a bummer! Those massage seats are supposed to be super comfy. I haven't had that exact issue, but I've seen similar electrical gremlins pop up in luxury cars before. Does the seat heating/cooling still work? If those are on the same circuit, it might help narrow down the problem. Also, have you tried checking the fuses related to the seat functions? A blown fuse could be a simple fix.

Good call on the seat heating/cooling – yes, those are functioning perfectly fine. I should have mentioned that earlier. I did check the main fuse box in the engine compartment, but I didn't see any blown fuses specifically labeled for the seats or massage function. Are there any other fuse locations I should be aware of? Perhaps one hidden somewhere in the cabin?

Okay, since the heating and cooling are working, it does sound like the issue is isolated to the massage function's wiring or the switch itself. I'm not sure about hidden fuse locations on the Espace, but it's possible there's a dedicated fuse or relay near the seat itself. Honestly, at this point, with a specific error code stored, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They can properly diagnose the wiring and connectors, and probably fix it for a reasonable price.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a certified Renault workshop. You were spot on; it turned out to be a faulty connector under the seat. They replaced the connector and re-seated all the related wiring. The total cost came to 95€. Massage function is working flawlessly again. Appreciate the help!
