Espace oil level sensor fault

I've got a 2003 Renault Espace with a gasoline engine, and I'm facing an annoying issue. The oil level sensor seems faulty. I keep getting an error message and a warning light on the speedometer. The oil pressure warning lamp also lights up intermittently. I've scanned the error memory, and it confirms a faulty oil level sensor signal. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Anyone else experienced something similar?

I had something similar with my Espace. If I remember correctly, the sensor itself was fine, but the wiring leading to it had corroded. Check the connections thoroughly before replacing the sensor.

Thanks for the tip! Do you recall where exactly the corrosion was located? Was it near the sensor itself, or further up the wiring harness?

In my case, it was closer to the sensor, almost at the plug. However, it might be beneficial to check the entire length of the cable. That being said, based on your description I would advise you to visit your local workshop and let them have a look at it.

Thanks for the advice. Turned out to be a faulty connection, just like you suggested. A new plug, some cleaning, and it's all sorted. Cost me 95€ Appreciate the help!
