Interesting. Where exactly should I be looking for the moisture? Is there a specific part of the sensor that's prone to it? I'm not really a car expert, so any pointers would be great.

In my case, with the Volvo, the issue stemmed from bubbles forming under the gel pad of the windshield, right where the sensor sits. These bubbles refracted the light, causing the sensor to misread the conditions. Given that Renault uses a similar sensor setup, it might be worth investigating that area. I would recommend a visit to a trusted professional, my repair cost 62€ back then.

Thanks for the help! I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on. Bubbles had formed under the gel pad and were messing with the sensor. They replaced it, and everything's working perfectly now. You saved me a lot of headache!

That sounds frustrating! I had a similar problem with my 2016 Volvo XC60. The symptoms were almost identical. It turned out to be a faulty sensor due to moisture. Have you checked for any condensation or damage around the sensor area? It's often like a domino effect; one faulty sensor can trigger a cascade of issues.
