Essentia oil pressure warning and engine noise
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Chevrolet Essentia owner reported an oil pressure warning light and loud engine noises. Despite a recent oil change with the correct oil grade and a new filter, the issue persisted. Another owner with similar symptoms suggested a defective oil pump as the cause. The workshop confirmed the oil pump defect, and after replacement, the vehicle functioned normally.

The oil level is normal. I performed an oil change 3000 km ago, using the oil grade recommended in the owner's manual, along with a new filter. What was the problem in your case?

In my situation, the oil pump was defective. The symptoms were identical. Given that you recently changed the oil and filter, a defective oil pump is probable. I recommend a visit to a workshop as soon as possible to avoid severe engine damage. It is better to be safe than sorry.

Thank you for your assistance. The diagnosis at the workshop confirmed a defect in the oil pump. The repair cost was 755€. The pump has been replaced and everything is working as expected.

I also own an Essentia and experienced similar symptoms. Have you checked the engine oil level and condition lately? Sometimes low oil or using the wrong oil viscosity can cause such issues. Also, when was the last oil change, and was the oil filter replaced? A clogged filter can restrict oil flow, like a kink in a garden hose.
