Essentia transmission oil pressure sensor fault
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Chevrolet Essentia experienced an engine warning light, with diagnostics indicating a transmission oil pressure sensor fault. This issue led to the gearbox entering emergency mode, slipping during gear changes, and occasionally making grinding noises. The problem was traced to a low gearbox oil level, which caused the sensor to malfunction. The solution involved checking and correcting the oil level, which resolved the issue after repair.

Yes, there's an error related to the transmission oil pressure sensor. Did your issue also point to the pressure sensor? What did you do to resolve it?

Yes, the error pointed directly to the pressure sensor. The gearbox oil level was too low, causing the sensor to malfunction. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. They identified and fixed the issue quickly.

I appreciate the advice. I checked the oil level and it seems to be the problem. I've had the car repaired; the low oil level had indeed damaged the sensor. The total cost was 365€. Thanks again!

I might be able to help. I had similar issues with my Essentia. Did diagnostics store any errors? My transmission warning light came on and shifting felt rough.
