Estima Smartphone Connection Problem

Having a frustrating smartphone connection issue with my 2015 Toyota Estima (gasoline engine) at 84948 km. It refuses to pair. Scanned the system and found a vague error stored. Restarted phone, car system, checked Bluetooth, but nothing. Suspecting an incorrect pairing process initially. Anyone experienced this?

No specific error messages during connection. It fails to find the phone, or finds it but fails to connect. The memory error is a generic communication error, nothing specific to Bluetooth or phone pairing. Any ideas?
