Etios Diesel rough idle poor starting

Hey, I'm having a rough time with my 2012 Toyota Etios diesel. It's got about 60k km on it. Lately, it's been a pain to start, feels like it's guzzling more fuel than usual, and the power is definitely down. Plus, the idle is super rough, and sometimes it even stalls. Could this be a clogged injector nozzle?

Greetings. I am sorry to hear about the troubles you are experiencing with your Etios. I own an Etios too, and those symptoms are quite familiar. From my understanding, the issues you are describing -- poor starting, increased fuel consumption, diminished engine power, and erratic idling -- may indicate a problem within the injection system. Have you checked for any misfires or unusual noises coming from the engine? These could also be indicative of the same problem.

Misfires, yeah, I think I felt something like that once or twice. But what exactly did you do to fix it?

Based on the symptoms you have described and the additional information regarding potential misfires, it is highly probable that the injection nozzles are indeed defective. While I am not qualified to provide definitive diagnoses or repair advice, I must recommend that you have your vehicle inspected by a qualified technician. They will be able to perform diagnostic tests to pinpoint the source of the problem and recommend the appropriate course of action.

Thanks for the advice! Turns out, it was indeed a dirty injection nozzle. Cost me 515€ to get it sorted, but the car is running like new again!
