Etios ECU defective main relay

My 2017 Toyota Etios (gasoline engine) has a reduction in engine power, and diagnostic scans reveal an error. Research points to a failure of the main relay within the ECU. Has anyone had experience with similar ECU problems on this model? Any advice?

Hey, that sounds rough. I had similar symptoms with my old Nissan a few years back. Reduced power and error codes popping up all the time. Could barely get up hills! Did you check the usual suspects like spark plugs or air filters first?

Yes, I have already inspected and replaced the spark plugs and air filter, but the issue persists. Can you provide more details about the specific error codes you encountered with your Nissan, and what the eventual solution was?

Okay, well, mine was slightly different codes, if I recall correctly. Honestly, it was a while ago. But the symptoms were super similar, loss of power and all that. I eventually had to take it to a workshop because I couldn't figure it out myself. Best bet is probably the same for you.

I took the vehicle to a trusted mechanic and the issue was traced to a defective main relay within the ECU. The estimated repair cost is approximately 120€.
