Etios immobilizer problem

Help! My 2012 Toyota Etios diesel is bricked! Engine won't start. Sometimes it fires up for a second then dies immediately. Error memory shows immobilizer issue. I'm guessing it's a key programming problem?

Sounds familiar. I had similar immobilizer weirdness with my Etios a while back. Same symptoms: engine sputtering then cutting out. Did the security light on the dash act up too?

Pretty sure it was the immobilizer losing its mind, likely due to incorrect key programming. Had to get it sorted at a workshop; they recoded the key and the immobilizer module. Honestly, I wouldn't mess with the immobilizer bypass; could cause more trouble down the line.
