Etios Lights Switching On By Themselves
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Toyota Etios owner is experiencing an issue where the car's lights turn on by themselves, even when the vehicle is off. A diagnostics test revealed an error related to the light switch. A suggested solution is to check the cable or plug connection at the light switch itself, as a defective connection there could cause such problems. It is recommended to have a workshop inspect and potentially fix the issue, which could cost around 95€.

Thanks! When you say 'cable or plug connection', do you mean the connection to the tail lights, or is there another main switch for the lights themselves? Just trying to understand where to start poking around.

I meant the connection directly at the light switch itself, the one you use to turn on your headlights and dashboard lights. That's where the mechanic found the issue in my case. If that's defective, it can trigger all sorts of weirdness. I'd suggest going to a workshop, it fixed the issue for me for about 95€.

Okay, I understand now. Thanks for the clarification! I will take it to a workshop and have them check the light switch connection. Hopefully, it's just a loose wire. They also estimated the repair costs to be about 95€, so that reassured me. Thanks again!

I had something similar happen with my Etios. Check the cable or plug connection of the light switch. A defective connection there could cause intermittent issues.
