Etios Transport Mode Active Electrical Malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Toyota Etios displayed a 'Transport Mode Active' message, causing electrical malfunctions and a dead navigation system. The issue was suspected to be due to a misconfiguration during the pre-delivery inspection, where the transport mode wasn't properly deactivated. Despite attempts to resolve it by checking fuses and disconnecting the battery, the problem persisted. Ultimately, a diagnostic check at the dealership identified and resolved the issue by deactivating the transport mode, restoring normal functionality.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

No, I haven't had any electrical work done recently, and the key fob battery is fairly new. I can't access the infotainment system at all, since the navigation is completely dead. When you had the same problem, were your symptoms exactly the same, with the electrical issues and the nav system being down? And if so, how did you resolve it?

Yes, the symptoms were identical, a complete electrical gremlin festival! Based on what you've described, I strongly recommend taking your Etios to a qualified technician. 'Transport Mode' is usually deactivated during the pre-delivery inspection (PDI) at the dealership, and it sounds like that might not have been done properly, or something has triggered it again. Trying to fix it yourself might cause further damage, and honestly, it's probably best left to the pros.

Okay, thanks a lot for the advice. I was hoping it would be something simple, but it sounds like I'm out of my depth. I'll book it in for a diagnostic check at the dealership. I got them to check the diagnostic check, and they resolved the issue: the transport mode was still active, due to some misconfiguration. They fixed the problem for 0€ and now everything works as expected!

I had a similar issue with my Etios a while back. The 'Transport Mode Active' message popped up, and it was driving me nuts! Did you recently get any work done on the car's electrical system, or maybe replace the key fob battery? Sometimes that can trigger weird issues. Also, have you tried checking the vehicle settings in the infotainment system, if you can even access it with the navigation being down?
