Etios water sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Toyota Etios owner is experiencing a persistent check engine light and rough engine performance, with diagnostics indicating a water sensor issue. The owner suspects a bad cable or plug as the cause. Another person with a similar vehicle suggests having a workshop inspect the sensor and wiring, as they have the proper tools to diagnose and resolve the issue effectively. The owner plans to consult a mechanic for further inspection and repair.

The check engine light is always on. I looked at the sensor, but I didn't see any corrosion or damage. Did yours do the same thing?

Yep, sounds like my experience. I wouldn't mess with it too much. Best to get it to a workshop. They have the right tools to properly test the sensor and wiring. Could save you some trouble.

I appreciate the advice. I'll schedule an appointment with a mechanic to have it inspected. The repair cost 95€. Thanks again.

I have a similar Etios. Sounds like what happened to me. Is the light intermittent, or is it always on? Did you check the sensor for corrosion or damage?
