Hey, thanks for the quick reply! Yes, I checked the oil level, and it seemed a bit low. I topped it off, but the problem persists. Were your symptoms exactly the same even after refilling? Did you do anything else?

Yes, topping it off didn't solve the problem for me either; I had to get it properly checked out. "Emergency mode" is the car's way of preventing further damage, and driving it like that may wear down the transmission even further. My suggestion is to take it to a workshop as soon as possible and have them check the sensor and the oil pump.

Understood. Sounds like a trip to the workshop is unavoidable. Appreciate the insight! I'll get it checked out and post what I find. It was indeed the sensor, and the oil level was critically low. Total repair cost: 365€ Thanks again!

Hello there! I also own an Evalia, although I can't remember which year it is, and your symptoms sound awfully familiar. I had similar issues with the warning light, the transmission behaving strangely, and those nasty grinding noises. The emergency mode is a pain, isn't it? It might be just what you are thinking, but have you checked the oil level already? What did it say?
