Evanda central locking failure
Summary of the thread
The central locking system on a 2005 Chevrolet Evanda failed, with the fuses confirmed to be fine. Possible causes include issues with the door latch or car alarm system. A similar problem in another vehicle was traced to a faulty contact signal due to a broken wire in the door loom. The solution involved professional repair, replacing a plug connection, which resolved the issue.

That's interesting! How did you figure out it was the contact signal? And how did you fix it? Did you have to replace the whole door latch, or was it just a wiring issue?

Well, the interior light was staying on sometimes, and the car alarm would occasionally go off for no reason. I didn't fix it myself, I took it to a local garage. They traced it back to a broken wire in the door loom. Honestly, unless you're confident with car electrics, I'd recommend getting it checked out by a professional. Could save you a lot of hassle.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a local workshop, and you were spot on – it was a dodgy connection in the door. They replaced the plug connection, and it's all working perfectly now. Cost me 95€, which isn't too bad. Cheers!

Sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra. The central locking failed, and it turned out to be a faulty contact signal in one of the doors. Does the car think a door is constantly open, even when it's closed?
