Evanda Electrical Errors Navigation Failure

Hey, I'm having some serious issues with my 2005 Chevrolet Evanda (gasoline engine). It's got 183932 km on the clock. Basically, the car is throwing all sorts of errors. The error memory is full of them, I'm getting general electrical malfunctions, and to top it all off, the navigation system is completely dead. Could this all be connected somehow? Anyone else experienced this?

Summary of the thread

The 2005 Chevrolet Evanda is experiencing multiple electrical errors, including a non-functional navigation system and random dashboard warnings. These issues may be interconnected, potentially pointing to a control unit problem, possibly due to corrupted or faulty programming. A suggested solution is to have the vehicle diagnosed at a workshop, where re-flashing or reprogramming the control unit could resolve the issues.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds like a real headache! Electrical gremlins are the worst. When you say 'error memory full', do you mean you've had it scanned and seen a list of codes? Knowing those codes would be really helpful in narrowing down the problem. And when you say 'general electrical malfunction', what exactly are you noticing? Are lights flickering, systems cutting out, anything like that? Also, has anything happened recently, like a jump start or any work done on the car, that might have triggered this?

Thanks for the quick reply! Yeah, I had it scanned and there were a bunch of error codes, but honestly, I didn't write them all down. The 'general malfunction' is more like random warnings popping up on the dash, sometimes the radio cuts out, things like that. Nothing specific that I can pin down. And no, nothing specific happened recently – no jump starts or anything. What could cause so many seemingly unrelated problems at once?

Okay, random warnings and systems cutting out definitely point towards something bigger than just a single faulty sensor. Given the nav system is also out, and without knowing the specific error codes, it does sound suspiciously like a control unit issue, specifically the programming. Sometimes the software on these things can get corrupted or just go haywire. Is it possible that the programming of the control unit could be implausible? Honestly, with those symptoms, especially without any recent incidents, the best bet would be to take it to a workshop. They can properly diagnose it and, if it is the control unit, re-flash or reprogram it. Expect to pay around 240€ for that kind of work.

Thanks a lot for the advice! Control unit issue sounds plausible, especially with the nav system being down too. I'll book it in at a workshop and mention the possibility of a software re-flash. Appreciate the help!
