Evanda engine stalling power loss

Hey, I'm having major issues with my 2003 Chevrolet Evanda, gasoline engine. The check engine light is on, and the engine keeps stalling when I'm idling, which is super annoying. Plus, it feels like I've lost a ton of power. The car has 82261 km on it. I'm thinking it might be the fuel volume regulator, especially since it feels like a faulty high pressure pump. Has anyone else dealt with something similar? It's driving me nuts!

Summary of the thread

A 2003 Chevrolet Evanda is experiencing engine stalling and power loss, with the check engine light on. The problem is suspected to be related to the fuel volume regulator or a faulty high-pressure pump. The symptoms include poor fuel efficiency and potential misfires. The suggested solution is to have the vehicle inspected at a workshop, where it was confirmed to be a fuel pump issue, which was then resolved.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds like a fuel issue, alright. When was the last time you had your car sensors checked? Reduced engine power and stalling could definitely point to a fuel regulator problem. Have you noticed any changes in your fuel efficiency?

Thanks for the quick reply! Fuel efficiency has been terrible lately! As for the sensors, I've never specifically had them checked. I'm not really sure how to check the high pressure pump. Also, could a misfire cause any of these problems or make the symptoms worse?

Given the fuel efficiency drop, it's highly likely the fuel regulator. A misfire is possible, but usually that's a separate issue. With these symptoms, the most likely root cause is the high pressure pump. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. It could save you even more money in the long run.

Okay, that makes sense. Thanks so much for the help and advice! I took it to the workshop, and they confirmed it was the fuel pump issue. Cost me 1510€ to get it all sorted, but it's running like new again!
