Evanda Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
The conversation centers around a 2005 Chevrolet Evanda experiencing engine stalling and reduced power, with a check engine light indicating a fuel rail pressure sensor signal fault. The issue is likely caused by a defective fuel rail pressure sensor, which affects the fuel mixture by sending incorrect data to the engine control unit. Replacing the sensor resolved the problem, restoring the car's performance.

Thanks for your input. I haven't specifically tracked fuel consumption recently. Could a defective pressure sensor really cause all these issues, or could it be something else in the fuel injection system?

In my case, replacing the sensor fixed everything. A faulty signal can definitely cause stalling and reduced power as the engine isn't getting the correct fuel mixture. However, a defective fuel pump could also lead to such issues. Given the symptoms, it is best to have it checked by a workshop.

Understood. I appreciate the advice. The workshop confirmed the pressure sensor was defective and replaced it. The repair cost 240€. The car runs fine now.

I had similar symptoms with my Evanda. The fuel rail pressure sensor, part of the fuel injection system, monitors the fuel pressure in the fuel rail and sends this information to the engine control unit (ECU). The ECU uses this data to regulate the amount of fuel injected into the engine. Did you notice any changes in fuel consumption before the problems started?
