Evanda MOST Bus Fault
Summary of the thread
The 2003 Chevrolet Evanda is experiencing a complete audio system failure, with no sound or navigation, and an error memory indicating a MOST bus fault. The issue is suspected to be a faulty control unit on the fiber optic network. Suggested solutions include visually inspecting the fiber optic cables and ensuring they are properly connected, but ultimately, professional diagnostic tools may be necessary to isolate the faulty unit.

Thanks for the quick reply! When you say 'checking the connections,' do you mean visually inspecting the fiber optic cables for damage, or is there more to it? Did you resolve the issue yourself, and if so, how did you pinpoint the faulty unit?

Visually inspect the fiber optic cables, yes, but also make sure they're properly seated in the connectors. In my case, I eventually had to take it to a workshop with the proper diagnostic tools. They were able to isolate the faulty control unit on the MOST bus. It's a complex system and diagnosing it without specialized equipment can be tricky.

Appreciate the info! Sounds like I'm heading for the workshop then. I was hoping for a quick fix, but I guess with these systems, it's best to leave it to the pros. Thanks again for sharing your experience; it's been a great help. The estimated cost is around 1000€.

I had a similar problem with my Evanda a while back. No audio, navigation went kaput. The MOST bus thing rings a bell. Have you tried checking the connections of all the control units first? Especially the amplifier, if it's separate in your model.
