Evanda oil temperature sensor issue
Summary of the thread
The issue involves a suspected faulty engine oil temperature sensor in a 2004 Chevrolet Evanda, indicated by a warning light and error code. The problem may stem from a defective cable or plug connection. A similar issue was resolved by checking and repairing the wiring, particularly the connections to the sensor. Ultimately, taking the vehicle to a workshop confirmed a defective cable connection, which was repaired to resolve the issue.

When you mention checking the wiring, could you elaborate on the specific areas that warrant particularly meticulous scrutiny? I've visually inspected the connectors, but a more detailed approach may be warranted.

Sure thing. On the Peugeot, the connector itself looked fine, but the wires going into the back of the connector were the problem. One was almost completely broken. Wiggle them around a bit, see if the light flickers. Honestly though, I'd just take it to a workshop. Saved me a ton of hassle.

Following your advice, I took it to a workshop. They said the cable connection was defective. The repair was 95€, which I think was worth it to get my Evanda working again.

Hey there! I had a similar thing happen on my old Peugeot 307. Same year, actually. Warning light, error code... the works. Turned out to be a dodgy connection to the temp sensor. Have you checked the wiring really carefully? They can corrode or get loose.
