Everest Audio System Failure

Hoping someone can help. My 2008 Ford Everest diesel's audio system has completely died. No sound at all. I've checked the obvious stuff like fuses, but still nothing. Could a dodgy bass speaker really kill the whole thing? Only 62833 km on the clock!

I had something similar happen in my Everest. Is the Bluetooth still connecting to your phone, but just no audio coming out? It was like the whole sound system took a vacation. Volume control was useless too. Like a tree falling in the woods, making no sound.

Yeah, that's exactly it! Bluetooth connects fine, but dead silence. USB audio and even the aux input are doing the same thing. Was it actually the bass speaker in the end?

Yep, sounds like the same gremlin I had. I messed around trying to figure it out myself, but eventually took it to a workshop. Turned out it was a short in the speaker that took everything else down with it. Cost about 280€ to sort.

Cheers for the info! Sounds like I'm heading to the workshop then. At least I have a better idea of what to expect. Hopefully, it's a quick fix! You saved me a lot of headaches!
