Everest rain light sensor issue

Bubbles under the gel pad? I haven't checked that specifically. Is that a common issue? And what would cause all those seemingly unrelated symptoms?

Indeed, it's not unheard of. The bubbles interfere with the sensor's ability to properly detect light and moisture levels. Because the rain-light sensor is tied into the vehicle's electrical system, a malfunctioning sensor can affect other systems, such as automatic headlight control and even speedometer dimming. It's best to take it to a workshop.

Thanks for the info. Turns out you were spot on! Workshop confirmed the bubbles. Cost 62€ to replace the gel pad. Everything's working again.

Greetings. I also have an Everest, though I'm not sure which year. Your symptoms are quite indicative of a problem I encountered some time ago. Did you by any chance check for bubbles forming under the gel pad of the windshield, where the sensor is located?
