Everest Sunroof Initialization Error
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Ford Everest owner is experiencing a 'sunroof not initialized' error, causing the sunblind to get stuck and the convertible top to malfunction. The issue might be related to coding or a problem with the sunroof control module. A suggested solution is to have the sunroof recalibrated using diagnostic tools at a workshop, which resolved a similar issue for another owner.

Not sure about CAN bus errors. Where would I check for that?

You'd need a decent OBDII scanner that can read Ford-specific codes, or a workshop. My local garage recalibrated my sunroof with their diagnostic tools and the software for 75€. Worth getting it checked. Bet you have the same issue.

Thanks, I'll take it to a workshop and see if sunroof calibration does the trick.

Everest owner here! Sounds familiar. I had a similar gremlin in my sunroof system. Is the BCM throwing any CAN bus errors, or is it just the sunroof control module acting up?
