Everest Transport Mode Active Error

Hi, I've got a 2005 Ford Everest diesel with 179455 km on the clock. I'm seeing "Transport mode active" on the dash. This coincides with a general electrical malfunction and the navigation system not working. The dealer says it's because the vehicle thinks it's new, even though it isn't. Any ideas?

That's odd. I had something similar happen in my Everest, though not the exact same symptoms. Have you tried checking the key fob? Sometimes a weak battery can cause weird issues that seem unrelated. Also, have you had any recent software installations or car configuration changes done?

Thanks for the quick reply. The key fob battery seems fine, but I'll double-check. No recent installations or changes that I'm aware of. Did you ever figure out what caused your issue?

Yeah, mine turned out to be a software glitch related to the immobilizer. I needed a diagnostic check and a reflash at the workshop to clear it. Seeing as your car thinks it's new, it does sound like a corrupted configuration of some sort. I would get it to the workshop asap.

Thanks. Appreciate the insight. Took it to the dealer, and turns out the car configuration was indeed corrupted. They reflashed the system, and everything's back to normal. Cost me nothing. Cheers!
