Thanks for sharing your experience. I had nearly identical symptoms with my Buick, the washer hose system stopped working completely and threw that same headlight cleaning system error. Ended up being electrical issues just like yours. Curious how much the repair cost in your case? My bill seemed steep but wondering if that is standard. Also, have you had any recurring issues with the washer system since getting it fixed? Just want to make sure I can catch any early warning signs if this happens again.

Good to hear back about your repair. Since having the mechanic look at it, my headlight cleaning system fault was completely resolved. The repair bill came to 165 for fixing the faulty cable connection and pump relay, seems in line with what these electrical repairs typically cost. The washer system has worked flawlessly since the fix. One tip: regularly check that the washer hose connections are secure and free from debris. Also make sure the LED warning lights on your dash stay off, if they come back on, it could indicate a new issue developing. The xenon headlight cleaning feature is crucial for proper illumination, so catching these problems early helps avoid bigger issues. My system has been trouble-free for over a year now with normal maintenance.

Just went to get this fixed last week actually. The mechanic found corroded wiring near the washer pump plus a clogged nozzle system. Total repair took about 2 hours and cost 180. Pretty reasonable considering all the electrical work they had to do. Since the repair, everything works perfectly, both the regular washers and the xenon headlight cleaning system. No more warning lights on the dash either. The mechanic showed me how moisture had gotten into the wiring harness over time, causing the original fault. Really glad I got it properly diagnosed instead of just trying quick fixes. Going to keep an eye on the connections and make sure they stay dry from now on. Much better experience than my last mechanic visit.

Had the same washer system malfunction on a 2016 Excelle GT. Initially thought it was just a clog in the washer nozzles, but diagnostic revealed a failed pump relay and corroded cable connections. The headlight cleaning system fault appeared because it shares the same pump system. The repair involved replacing the washer pump assembly and cleaning the electrical connections at the relay. This was a serious issue since the system feeds both windshield and xenon headlight washers, driving without proper headlight cleaning can lead to reduced visibility at night. The root cause was moisture getting into the pump wiring harness, causing corrosion at the connection points. After the repair, both the washer system and headlight cleaning functions were fully restored. Recommend having a qualified technician check the entire washer system circuit, not just the pump itself. In these cases, proper diagnosis is crucial since the malfunction can stem from multiple points in the system. Common quick fixes like cleaning nozzles often miss the underlying electrical issues.
