Excursion AC Warning Light and Error Code
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Ford Excursion diesel is experiencing AC issues, including a lack of cooling, failure to switch on, and a warning light on the speedometer, along with a stored error code. The problem could be due to a refrigerant leak or a defective air conditioning control unit. After consulting with others who had similar issues, it was determined that the air conditioning control unit was defective, and the issue was resolved by replacing it at a workshop.

When you say similar, do you mean the AC just quit, or did you also have the warning light and error code? Do you recall what the repair cost?

Yes, exactly the same! AC stopped completely, plus the light and code. I tried to find a refrigerant leak and even looked at the cooling system, but I'm not mechanically inclined. I ended up taking it to a workshop. Probably best if you do the same.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to my local shop and you were spot on - the air conditioning control unit was indeed defective. Cost me 980€ to get it sorted. Appreciate the help!

Hey! I have a Ford Excursion as well. Your symptoms sound eerily familiar to what I went through last summer. Was the refrigerant compressor the issue? What kind of mileage are you at?
