Excursion AC Warning Light and Error Code

I'm having AC issues with my 2005 Ford Excursion diesel. The AC doesn't cool, won't switch on, and there's a warning light on the speedometer. The error memory also has a fault stored. Could this be a refrigerant leak, or is the air conditioning control unit defective?

When you say similar, do you mean the AC just quit, or did you also have the warning light and error code? Do you recall what the repair cost?

Yes, exactly the same! AC stopped completely, plus the light and code. I tried to find a refrigerant leak and even looked at the cooling system, but I'm not mechanically inclined. I ended up taking it to a workshop. Probably best if you do the same.
