Excursion Central Locking Failure

Central locking on my 2002 Ford Excursion diesel has stopped working. Doors can't be locked or unlocked with the remote or door switch. Diagnostics show an error related to the locking system. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else experienced this?

Sounds familiar. Did you check the fuse box first? That's usually the first place to look for electrical issues. Is the error code specific, or just a general fault?

I checked all the fuses related to the central locking system, and they seem fine. The error code doesn't point to a specific door or actuator, just a general 'central locking malfunction'. Could a faulty actuator on one door take down the whole system?

That's beyond what I know. I ended up taking mine to a workshop when I ran into that. They figured it out quickly. You might be chasing ghosts if you don't have the right diagnostic tools.

Thanks for the insight! I took it to my local mechanic, and you were right - it was a corroded connector. 95€ later and it's working again.
