Excursion Central Locking Failure
Summary of the thread
The central locking system on a 2002 Ford Excursion diesel stopped working, with neither the remote nor door switch functioning. Diagnostics indicated a general error related to the locking system, leading to suspicions of a defective cable or plug connection. After checking fuses and considering the possibility of a faulty actuator, the issue was resolved by a mechanic who identified a corroded connector as the cause.

I checked all the fuses related to the central locking system, and they seem fine. The error code doesn't point to a specific door or actuator, just a general 'central locking malfunction'. Could a faulty actuator on one door take down the whole system?

That's beyond what I know. I ended up taking mine to a workshop when I ran into that. They figured it out quickly. You might be chasing ghosts if you don't have the right diagnostic tools.

Thanks for the insight! I took it to my local mechanic, and you were right - it was a corroded connector. 95€ later and it's working again.

Sounds familiar. Did you check the fuse box first? That's usually the first place to look for electrical issues. Is the error code specific, or just a general fault?
