Excursion cruise control malfunction

Cruise control on my 2005 Ford Excursion (gasoline engine) suddenly stopped working. Error message on the speedometer and a code in the diagnostic tool. Fuses are fine. Could it be a bad cable or connection to the cruise control actuator?

I had a similar issue with my Skoda Octavia. The cruise control died, and it was a dodgy connection in the steering wheel controls. Worth checking before you dig deeper.

Thanks! When you say 'dodgy connection', was it visibly corroded, or just loose? Did you fix it yourself?

Not visibly corroded, just loose. Wiggling didn't help. I took it to a shop. They diagnosed it fast, but I couldn't trace it myself. Given the safety, I'd get it checked properly.

Your suggestion helped! It was a bad connection to the actuator, like I thought. Workshop fixed it for 95€, and the Excursion's cruise control is working again. Thanks!
