Excursion exhaust flap issue

I'm having trouble with my 2000 Ford Excursion with the gasoline engine. It's got 232454 km on it. I'm getting an error about the exhaust flaps. The exhaust is louder, and after a cold start, the engine sounds noisy for a while. From what I've read, the exhaust flap might be defective. Has anyone else experienced similar issues?

I had a similar issue with my Excursion (don't remember the year but it's the same model). Loud exhaust is a key symptom. Are you sure it's the flap actuator?

Interesting! I assumed it was the flap actuator because of the error code, and the noise seems to be coming from that area. What was it in your case? Did you experience degraded engine performance as well?

Yeah, the code pointed to the actuator for me too at first! Turned out, the flap itself was seized and causing the actuator to throw the error. Eventually I took it to a workshop and they sorted it. Cost me around 190€ with parts and labor.

Thanks for the insight! Sounds like I should probably just get it checked out by a professional. The 190€ repair cost is also good to know and helps in estimating. I appreciate your experience!
