Excursion Oil Temperature Warning Light
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Ford Excursion diesel is experiencing issues with the oil temperature warning light and a flashing oil pressure light, possibly due to a faulty oil temperature sensor. The problem occurs more frequently when the engine is warm. A similar issue was resolved by replacing the oil temperature sensor, which fixed the warning light problem.

It seems to happen more when the engine warms up. When it's cold, everything seems fine, but after driving for a bit, the warning lights start going crazy. Is that what you experienced?

Yep, sounds exactly like what I went through. Turned out to be the oil temperature sensor. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop; they can diagnose it properly and replace the sensor if needed.

Thanks for the advice! I had the oil temperature sensor checked, and you were spot on – it was faulty. Got it replaced for 95€, and now everything's running smoothly. Appreciate the help!

I have an Excursion too, and I had a similar problem a while back. Was it also showing up intermittently, or is it constant? Does it happen more when the engine is hot?
