Thank you for your input! I've tested the battery voltage and observed some fluctuations, but nothing consistently alarming. Could you elaborate on how you definitively diagnosed the battery sensor as the problem? Were there any other tests you performed, or was it simply a process of elimination?

Honestly, I wasn't 100% sure myself. Given the symptoms and the age of the vehicle, I took it to a trusted shop. They confirmed it was the sensor. It's tricky to be certain without the right diagnostic tools, I would recommend you do the same.

I appreciate the advice. Based on your experience and the complexities involved, I've decided to take it to a reputable workshop for a thorough diagnosis. Ultimately, they pinpointed the defective battery sensor, and the repair, including parts and labor, came to approximately 315€.

Hey there! I've got an Excursion too. Sounds like you might be on the right track with the battery sensor. I had similar symptoms: weak starts and flickering lights that drove me crazy! Have you checked the battery voltage when the engine is running? What kind of voltage are you seeing?
