Exhaust Flap Issue

Thanks! Yeah, it's louder on cold starts. And I have noticed a slight decrease in responsiveness, but not too bad. Was it the exhaust flap actuator for you? What fixed it?

Yep, you nailed it. Turned out the exhaust flap actuator was kaput. Honestly, the change in performance was subtle at first, but it got worse over time. I limped it into the workshop and they confirmed it pretty quickly. It’s probably best to get it checked out by a professional; you don’t want to risk causing any back pressure and potentially damaging other parts of the exhaust system or even the engine. It is not the end of the world, but definitely something to address.

Thanks for the advice. I'll book it into a workshop to get it checked out. I'll post the repair cost here later, I'm expecting around 190€.

Wow, that sounds eerily familiar! I had almost the exact same symptoms with my Crossland X a while back. The louder exhaust, especially on cold starts, was a dead giveaway. It’s like the car was trying to clear its throat first thing in the morning! Did you notice any change in engine performance? Mine felt a bit sluggish, like it was trying to run with a sock in its mouth.
