Expedition AC Compressor Failure

My 2005 Ford Expedition with a gasoline engine is giving me fits. The A/C compressor just decided to quit. Air conditioning system does not switch on, air conditioning no longer cools, and there's an error stored. Belt tensioner maybe? Or a relay switch? What else could it be? Anyone else had this happen?

I had a similar issue with my Expedition. A/C just stopped blowing cold one day. Check for a refrigerant leak first; that's the most obvious thing. Also, have you looked at the HVAC system? Is there enough refrigerant?

Refrigerant leak, huh? Interesting. I haven't checked that specifically. I was focusing more on electrical stuff. HVAC system seems fine, but I'll give it a closer look. You think it's worth checking the refrigerant level before diving into more complicated stuff?

Yeah, definitely check the refrigerant level. Could save you a lot of hassle. If that's not it, then you might have to get a shop to diagnose it. Might be undervoltage issues

Took it to the shop, and you were right! Turns out it was undervoltage as a likely cause. Cost me 240€, but at least it's fixed. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
