Expedition Camshaft Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Ford Expedition is experiencing poor starting and reduced engine power, with an error code indicating a defective camshaft sensor. The issue could be caused by a faulty sensor, bad cable, or plug. It is suggested to also check the crankshaft sensor, as it can cause similar symptoms. The problem was resolved by replacing the camshaft sensor and fixing a corroded connector.

The crankshaft sensor? I haven't checked it. Is it difficult to access, and would that cause similar symptoms to a bad camshaft sensor?

On my BMW, the crankshaft sensor was a pain to get to, but yes, similar symptoms. A faulty crankshaft sensor can mess with the engine timing just like the camshaft one. Given your symptoms and the error code pointing to the camshaft sensor, and the age of your Ford, I'd still suggest getting it properly diagnosed. Could be other things too, unfortunately.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop. You were right - it was the camshaft sensor and a corroded connector. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted.

Sounds like the camshaft sensor is the culprit. I had a similar issue with my old BMW 3 Series years ago. Engine stalling, rough idling, and the check engine light were all on. Have you checked the crankshaft sensor as well? They sometimes work together.
