Expedition charging system issue

I'm having issues with my 2012 Ford Expedition with a gasoline engine. I'm experiencing reduced engine power, a warning light, difficulty starting, and weak/flickering lights. It has 98628 km. Any advice?

Those symptoms—reduced power, warning light, poor starting, and fluctuating lights—strongly suggest a problem with your Expedition's charging system. The alternator provides electrical power while the engine is running and charges the battery. When it fails, the battery struggles. Are there any specific codes related to voltage or the charging system?

Yes, the error memory shows a fault related to the generator. Does this mean the generator is defective and needs replacement, or could there be other issues?

Given the error code and symptoms, the generator/alternator itself is likely the problem. Wiring or connections could be contributing, but that's less likely given the mileage. I'd recommend a trusted workshop. Replacing the alternator is usually best, likely around 960€ including parts and labor.

Thanks for the input. Based on your assessment and the error code, I'll have the generator replaced at a workshop. Thanks for confirming my suspicions and the cost estimate.
