Expedition ECU Error Code
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Ford Expedition was experiencing reduced engine power and an error code, suspected to be related to the ECU. It was suggested to check the main relay, which powers the ECU, as a faulty relay can cause intermittent power loss and error codes. After replacing the main relay, the issue was resolved, avoiding the need for a full ECU replacement.

Main relay, huh? Where is that located, and could that really cause the ECU to malfunction like that? I was thinking a full ECU replacement might be needed.

The main relay provides power to the ECU. If it's failing, the ECU won't get consistent voltage, causing the symptoms you described. It's definitely worth checking before replacing the entire unit. Though I would recommend a visit to the workshop, as you might need some special tools.

Thanks for the tip! It was the main relay, just like you said. Replaced it and everything is back to normal. Cost me 120€. Appreciate the help!

Could be a few things. Have you checked the main relay that powers the ECU? A faulty relay can cause intermittent power loss and throw error codes. Do you have the specific error code?
