Meter them? Nah, just a visual. I'll try the meter thing tomorrow. As for wiggling wires, which ones specifically? There's a whole mess of them under there! I don't want to go yanking on the wrong bundle and make things worse.

Okay, definitely meter the fuses. Visual isn't enough these days. And yeah, fishing around blindly isn't ideal. However, given the stored error and lack of movement, a defective cable or plug connection sounds right. You're probably looking at a trip to a workshop, unfortunately. They'll be able to pinpoint the exact wiring fault.

Ugh, that's what I was afraid of. Thanks for the input! Dropped it off this morning. Turns out it WAS a dodgy connector. 95€ later and she's good to go!

Yeah, I've seen that issue pop up before. When you say you checked the fuses, did you actually meter them, or just eyeball it? Sometimes they can look fine but still be toast. Also, have you tried wiggling the wires under the dash while trying to adjust the column? Could be a loose connection. Does it feel loose at all?
