Expedition Key Fob Battery
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Ford Expedition displayed a "key battery low" warning, causing unreliable keyless access and an error message. The likely cause was identified as a low battery in the key fob. Replacing the battery with a standard CR2032 button battery resolved the issue, restoring full functionality and clearing the error message.

Thanks! I haven't replaced it yet. Hoping it was something else. Is it a special battery? Did replacing the battery solve the problem completely for you?

Replacing the battery fixed it. It's just a standard CR2032 button battery, the kind you can find at most drugstores or hardware stores. I'd still go to the workshop, but I bet they are going to do the same as me.

Awesome, CR2032, got it! I replaced the battery and everything is working perfectly again. The error message is gone and keyless entry works like new! The workshop charged me 37€ for the replacement. Thanks!

I had a similar issue with my Expedition! Keyless entry went first, then the range got shorter. Sounds like a low battery in your key fob. Have you tried replacing it?
