Expedition keyless entry antenna issue

I'm having a weird issue with my 2015 Ford Expedition (gas engine). My keyless entry is acting up – sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm also getting an error code related to the bumper antenna, and sometimes I can't start the engine without physically inserting the key. I suspect the antenna cable or connector is faulty. Anyone else run into something similar?

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I have an Expedition too, and I had issues with the keyless entry acting flaky a while back. Didn't think much of it at the time, but it makes sense that it could be linked to the antenna.

Really? What did you do to fix it? What were the exact symptoms? And what was the fix?

I didn't actually fix it myself! I took it to a shop, and they found a damaged connector on the bumper antenna. They replaced it, and everything went back to normal. My keyless entry was intermittent, and I occasionally got a 'key not detected' message on the dash. Definitely sounds like the same thing.

Thanks a lot! Sounds exactly like my problem. I'll get it checked out. I saw replacement antenna for around 95€ so probably I'll get it done at the workshop. I will post the outcome!
