Expedition Manifold Pressure Sensor Issue

Help! My 2008 Ford Expedition (gas engine) is acting up. The check engine light is on, and it feels like I've lost a ton of power. It's super sluggish, and I'm burning through gas like crazy. Odo says 171112 km. Any ideas?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my Expedition. Check your manifold pressure sensor. Those symptoms are pretty much exactly what I experienced. Is it idling rough too?

Manifold pressure sensor... Where exactly is that located, and how would I know if it's bad? Rough idling.. yes, sometimes!

Okay, if the idle is rough too, that really points to the MAP sensor. It's on the intake manifold. Honestly, just take it to a workshop. I tried messing with mine and ended up making it worse. A large vacuum leakage would be the cause, I think.

Thanks for the tip! I took it to a shop, and you were spot on. Faulty manifold pressure sensor was the culprit. Replaced it, and the engine runs like new again. Cost me 235€, but worth it!
