Expedition seat heater malfunction

Hey, my 2013 Ford Expedition with a gasoline engine has a weird problem. The seat heater isn't getting warm at all. I've also got an error code popping up when I scanned it. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

A 2013 Ford Expedition's seat heater is not warming, and an error code related to the seat heating system is present. A possible cause could be a defective thermal sensor or seat heating mat. It is recommended to take the vehicle to a workshop for diagnosis, where they can use tools to identify the issue. In this case, the problem was a defective seat heating mat, which was repaired at a cost.

I had a similar issue with my old Audi A4. The seat heating didn't work and showed an error. In my case, the thermal sensor in the seat cushion was defective. Is the error message related to the seat heating circuit?

That's interesting! I didn't think about the thermal sensor. How can I confirm that's the problem? And yeah, the error code is specifically for the seat heating system.

In my situation, I wasn't able to confirm it myself. I suggest bringing it to a workshop. They should be able to pinpoint the issue using diagnostic tools and test the sensor's resistance. If you're lucky it's a simple fix but be prepared for the worst.

Thanks for the tip! I'll take it to a workshop. They found out that the seat heating mat was defective. Repair cost was 390€, but at least it's fixed.
