Expedition Sunroof Not Initialized
Summary of the thread
The issue with the 2015 Ford Expedition's sunroof not initializing, resulting in a stuck sunblind and inoperable convertible top, is likely due to coding changes affecting the body control module. The suggested solution is to have the sunroof system recalibrated by a professional, as improper coding can disrupt the original settings. A visit to a workshop for recalibration resolved the problem, restoring the sunroof's functionality.

Yes, it did. Is there a chance you could share more details on what the solution was?

It does sound like the coding is the likely culprit. In my case, the dealer needed to recalibrate the sunroof system. The coding probably messed up the original settings. I would suggest visiting a workshop to have it checked out. It may require specialized equipment to properly initialize the sunroof again. Do not attempt any DIY if you don't know what you are doing.

Thanks, this confirms my suspicion. I visited a local workshop, and after recalibrating the sunroof, everything is working as expected again. It cost me 75€.

I have an Expedition, too. I had similar problems with the sunroof control after some work was done. The symptoms were almost identical. Sunblind getting stuck, and complete failure of the sunroof. Did the coding involve any changes to the body control module or related systems?
