Hello everyone, I own a BMW 1 (2014, 117000 km) and recently encountered a concerning issue. While driving, my car started jerking as if it was in too high a gear. I downshifted, but the jerking continued. Shortly after, the drivetrain warning light appeared on the dashboard, then disappeared, and the jerking stopped. However, since this incident, the car feels like it has lost power. Has anyone experienced a similar issue or have any insights on what might be causing this? Any advice on how to resolve it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

This could be a sign of a failing EGR valve or a clogged DPF, both common in higher mileage diesels. Start by checking for stored fault codes with a diagnostic tool—even if the light disappeared, the code may still be stored. A clogged EGR or DPF can cause jerking, loss of power, and intermittent drivetrain warnings. Have you had either of those checked or cleaned recently? Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!
