Expert Control Unit Communication Error
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Peugeot Expert van is experiencing a control unit communication error, leading to engine overheating, a check engine light, and coolant leakage due to excessive cooling system pressure. The suspected cause is a defective cable or plug connection. After diagnostics, the issue was confirmed to be a faulty connector to the engine control module, which was repaired.

Thank you for your suggestion. Which sensor specifically caused the issue on your Corsa? Did you observe any pressure issues within the cooling system?

I honestly can't remember which sensor it was, but it was related to the emissions system. No pressure issues, fortunately. Given your coolant spill, it might be more complex than a simple sensor. I'd advise getting it checked by a professional, as overheating can cause serious engine damage.

Understood. I appreciate your input. After diagnostics, the issue was indeed a faulty connector to the engine control module, resulting in a communication fault. Repair cost was 95€.

Sounds frustrating. I had similar symptoms with my old Opel Corsa, though it wasn't overheating. The check engine light was always on, and it turned out to be a connectivity issue with one of the sensors. Did you check all the sensor connections? Are there any other symptoms?
