Expert diesel particulate filter issue
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Peugeot Expert diesel with 252,608 km is experiencing reduced engine power and smoke during acceleration, potentially due to a diesel particulate filter (DPF) issue. Symptoms such as decreased fuel efficiency and engine backpressure suggest a defective DPF. A workshop diagnosis confirmed the need for DPF replacement, which is advised as the solution.

Indeed, fuel efficiency has decreased noticeably. So, the symptoms do match. What was the eventual diagnosis and resolution in your case?

Yep, sounds like DPF backpressure is the culprit, likely defective. I tried a forced regeneration, but it didn't help. Eventually, the workshop confirmed it needed replacing. Think of it like a clogged artery; the engine can't breathe properly. Bite the bullet and take it to a workshop, that's the best I can advise.

Thank you for confirming my suspicions and sharing your experience. The workshop has also diagnosed a defective DPF. Replacement cost is quoted at 1550€. I appreciate your help.

Sounds like the dreaded DPF issue. I had something similar with my Expert. Engine light came on, felt like I was towing a boat anchor, and saw a cloud of smoke behind me when I put my foot down. Has your fuel efficiency tanked as well?
