Expert parking sensor fault
Summary of the thread
The parking aid on a 2012 Peugeot Expert diesel is non-functional, displaying a 'Parking assist fault' message. The issue is suspected to be due to a dodgy connection, frayed cable, or loose plug on the radar sensors. After a workshop visit, the problem was confirmed to be a faulty wiring harness, which was repaired at a cost of 95€, avoiding the need for new parking sensors.

Beyond reading the code, I've visually inspected the bumper-mounted sensors for damage or disconnections. Haven't started probing with a multimeter yet. Did you locate the faulty connection on your Astra, or did you have to replace any of the ultrasonic sensors?

The problem proved difficult to isolate without specialized equipment. Given the potential complexity of diagnosing intermittent faults within the parking assist system, a visit to a qualified workshop seemed best.

Workshop visit was the best bet. Faulty wiring harness confirmed. Total cost: 95€, a lot better than new parking sensors!

I understand your frustration. I encountered a similar issue on my previous Vauxhall Astra. The symptoms you describe align with a potential defect in the cable or plug connection of the parking assist components. Have you attempted any specific diagnostic procedures beyond reading the error code?
