Expert torque converter fault

Yeah, it definitely hunts for the right gear. And the grinding is mostly noticeable between 3rd and 4th. Was it definitely the torque converter in your case? What was the damage?

Yep, sounds like the torque converter lock-up clutch is gone. Given the symptoms and the error code, it's the most likely culprit. A defective torque converter means the engine and transmission aren't efficiently coupled, leading to the slipping and rough shifts. I'd suggest getting it checked by a transmission specialist. Mine needed a full replacement, which wasn't cheap. Best to get a proper diagnosis and quote.

Thanks for the info. I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed it's the torque converter. Repair cost is estimated at 2120€. Not ideal, but at least I know what it is now.

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my Expert. Slipping, rough shifting... the whole nine yards. Does it feel like it's struggling to find the right gear sometimes? Also, is the grinding noise constant or only during specific shifts?
